So, our experience did not match the title of the cabin . It would appear there seems to be an issue with regular ongoing maintenance in the cabins . The convertors were completely shut down and major components identified as needing replacing as these had failed in due to ingress of steam into the systems. Repair work was completed on one propulsion system on the 10th and a short sea trial conducted overnight with Lloyds Surveyors and Carnivals Electrical SME overseeing the tests. 12 December 2019 both propulsion systems were repaired and fully tested with a short sea trial being conducted in waters off Tenerife with tugs available in case of any problems. Lloyds and the ship's team were satisfied the ship was safe to operate without further restrictions and Ventura returned to Southampton missing out on the scheduled stops of Lanzarote and Lisbon. An engineering team remained onboard the ship to monitor the systems and disembarked in Southampton on the 17th.

We were on the ship within twenty minutes of arriving at the terminal . She’s home to 1,556 cabins including 434 Inside, 223 Sea view, 675 Balcony, 178 Superior Deluxe Balcony, 26 Suite, 18 Single and 2 Family cabins. There are two Penthouse Suites, side by side on Deck 12 right at the aft of the ship. Ventura is a haven of contentment, giving guests the chance to truly relax and unwind during their cruise.

Additionally, Ventura has one of the best kids clubs and programming in the fleet. Our experience on the Ventura sailing around the Canary Islands and Cádiz and Lisbon was fantastic. We had a balcony and it was very spacious and comfortable inside. In the evening there are spectacular shows as well as comedy and cabaret performances. Furthermore, live music, a casino and various lectures and courses are offered. You can end the day in one of the many different bars and have a stimulating conversation with fellow travelers with delicious drinks and cocktails.

Ventura cruise ship entered into service in April 2008. Yes, there are still the over-60s that P&O is known for attracting, but also lots of families with children, especially in the school holidays. There are also no art auctions, just a gallery with discreetly priced artwork. There's a casino onboard as well, albeit a small one.
